24 Feb (HS): A five-year-old kid who had been missing for over a week was
discovered dead in a pond near a temple in Noida on Tuesday, police said. Ishu,
a native of Chipiyana Buzurg hamlet, had gone missing on February 17 while
playing outside his home. His father, Indrapal, filed a missing person report
at the Bisrakh Kotwali police station on February 18, according to authorities.
They stated that a search effort had been ongoing since then.
According
to police, on Monday, onlookers noticed the boy's body floating in a pond near
a shrine and notified local authorities. A squad from Bisrakh Kotwali police
station arrived and recovered the corpse. Police said the corpse was submitted
for a postmortem examination once the inquest procedures were completed.
According
to authorities, the boy's family is originally from Farrukhabad and was
residing in a leased home in Chipiyana Buzurg village. In a different instance
earlier this month, a three-year-old kid allegedly died after falling into a
water-filled trench in the Dankaur district of Greater Noida on February 14.
Police stated he went to his maternal uncle's residence to attend a religious
ceremony.
