24 Feb (HS): Three men on a motorbike were killed after being ran over by a
sleeper bus in Uttar Pradesh's Lalitpur district on Tuesday, police said. According
to Rajesh Kumar Srivastava, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Madawara), the
accident occurred on Monday midnight near a petrol pump in the Madawara police
station area. He said that a sleeper bus collided with the motorbike carrying
three young people. Police raced to the scene and brought the injured to a
hospital, where all three were pronounced dead. He identified the deceased as
Jaidev (30), a Hilgan Bamhori resident; Alok (18), a Bamhori Kalan resident;
and Rajkumar (19), a Pipariya Jagir resident.
The
official stated that the sleeper bus was going from Prithvipur in Madhya Pradesh
to Indore via Madawara with people on board. Following the crash, the driver
and conductor abandoned the bus and left the area, he said. Police have
confiscated the bus and transferred the remains for postmortem examination.
