
Guwahati, 01 February (HS): Reacting to the Union Budget, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, Pabitra Margherita said that Assam is set to receive benefits amounting to nearly ₹6,000 crore from the Ministry of Textiles through this budget. He added that the budget allocation for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has been increased to ₹6,812 crore, which will provide fresh momentum to the development of the Northeastern states.
Welcoming the budget, Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia described it as people-centric and welfare-oriented, stating that it has been framed keeping in mind the needs of the common people. He said that investment, industrial growth and employment generation are the key pillars of the budget.
Expressing confidence in its impact, Saikia said the budget will boost economic activities across Assam and the entire Northeast, while also creating new employment opportunities for the youth in the region.----------
