Guwahati, 01 February (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on the presentation of the Viksit Bharat Budget 2026.

In a message shared on social media, Dr. Sarma described the budget as a balanced approach between India’s global ambitions and grassroots development. He highlighted that the reform-oriented budget is expected to accelerate the nation’s overall economic progress. The Chief Minister also noted that Assam and the eastern region are likely to benefit meaningfully from this budget, strengthening infrastructure, development and inclusive growth.
