Guwahati, 5 January (HS): Swapnil Pal on Monday assumed charge as the District Commissioner of Kamrup Metropolitan district. A 2018-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, Pal previously served as the District Commissioner of Tinsukia district.

As per a recent order issued by the state government, the incumbent Kamrup Metropolitan District Commissioner, Sumit Sattawan, has been transferred to Tinsukia district, while Swapnil Pal has been posted to Kamrup Metropolitan district as the new District Commissioner.

Prior to this assignment, Pal had been discharging his duties as the District Commissioner of Tinsukia, where he was involved in overseeing administrative and developmental activities of the district.---------
