Nagaon (Assam), 7 January (HS): Police arrested two persons with a pistol from the Rupahihat area of Nagaon district on Wednesday. The accused are being subjected to intensive interrogation, police said.

According to police sources, acting on specific intelligence inputs, a Nagaon Police team from Rupahihat Police Station carried out a search operation in the area. During the operation, the two suspects were apprehended with a firearm.

Police recovered a China-made pistol, one magazine and two live .32 calibre cartridges from their possession. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Arms Act, and further legal proceedings are underway, police added.----------
