
Guwahati, 29 January (HS): Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya felicitated several armed forces veterans on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day at a programme held at Lok Bhavan, paying tribute to their role in strengthening the foundations of the Sovereign, Socialist, Secular and Democratic Republic of India.
The Governor honoured armed forces veterans M. Hari Keshore Singha, Kirti Prasad Chaliha, Khanindra Bezborah, Tarendra Nath Basumutary and Ex-Havildar Paresh Chandra Nath in recognition of their exemplary service to the nation and their continued contributions to society after superannuation. The veterans, following their retirement, have been actively involved in various welfare activities and have played a constructive role in bringing positive changes in society.
While felicitating them, Acharya lauded their dedication both as members of the armed forces and as responsible citizens. He wished them a long life and urged them to continue their productive engagements for the betterment of society. The Governor also described them as a source of inspiration for the younger generation and encouraged them to remain role models for the youth to emulate.------------
