Chennai, 29 January (H.S.) : The second season of Startup Singam, a premier reality television show dedicated to the startup ecosystem, was officially launched today with an ambitious vision to scale regional businesses.
Organized by the Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission (TANSIM), also known as StartupTN, the initiative aims to identify promising entrepreneurs from across the state and provide them with a platform for investment and mentorship. The organizers announced that this season carries a significant financial ambition, targeting a total investment commitment of Rs 100 crore to bolster the growth of homegrown enterprises.
During the launch ceremony, the Mission Director and CEO of StartupTN, SIVARAJAH RAMANATHAN, stated that the program is designed to take the spirit of entrepreneurship to the grassroots level. He emphasized that the first season successfully bridged the gap between rural innovators and urban investors, and the current edition would further expand this reach.
The CEO noted that the initiative aligns with the state government's goal of making Tamil Nadu a global hub for innovation and a one-trillion-dollar economy by providing necessary capital and strategic guidance to emerging founders.
The show will feature a panel of esteemed judges and veteran investors who will evaluate business pitches based on scalability, innovation, and social impact. Selected participants will undergo rigorous training and workshops to refine their business models before presenting them to potential investors.
The project coordinators highlighted that special focus would be given to women-led startups and those emerging from Tier II and Tier III cities.
With the roar of Season 2 now active, the program expects to witness a diverse range of sectors, including Agri-Tech, Ed-Tech, and sustainable manufacturing, contributing to the state's economic vibrance.
