CISF Seizes Truck Loaded With 32 Tonnes of Illegal Coal in Salanpur

Kolkata, 23 January (H.S.) :

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has intensified its crackdown against illegal coal trading and smuggling in the Salanpur coal belt of West Burdwan district.

According to official sources, CISF personnel seized a truck loaded with coal during a special operation conducted late Thursday night near the Dendua boosting station on the Asansol–Chittaranjan main road. The truck, bearing a West Bengal registration number, was found to be carrying around 32 metric tonnes of illegally mined coal. The vehicle did not have any valid documents or permits related to the coal. The truck driver fled the spot during the operation.

The joint operation was carried out by CISF along with teams from the MNP BNR camp, the STF Quick Response Team, and the security wing of Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL). The seized truck and the illegal coal were later handed over to Salanpur police station.

Salanpur police have registered a complaint in connection with the incident and initiated an investigation. Officials stated that such operations against illegal coal mining, transportation, and trading will continue, and coordination between CISF and the local administration has been further strengthened to curb coal smuggling and protect national assets.
