Nashik, 23 Jan (HS): Shiv
Sena leader and MP Sanjay Raut was slapped with a fine of Rs 1,000 for not
attending the court continuously for hearing of the defamation case against
him.
Maharashtra Education Minister Dada Bhuse had filed
a defamation case against Raut.
Three years back, when Bhuse joined Eknath Shinde’s
group of Shiv Sena, Raut during his visit to Malegaon criticised Bhuse
consistently, including swindling money after Girna Cooperative Sugar Mill in
Dabhadi was sold by Chhagan Bhujbal. Buse purchased the mill which was under
liquidation. Bhuse collected share capital from sugarcane growers.
Raut had claimed that Bhuse usurped about Rs 178
crore collected from the share holders,
Bhuse then filed a defamation case against Raut, who
did not appear on the dates fixed by the court for hearing in the case.
