Lucknow,

23 Jan (HS): Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,

the Uttar Pradesh government is continuously taking effective initiatives to

empower the youth of the state with modern, employment-oriented and

global-standard skills. In this sequence, the state-level skill competition

organized in Lucknow under the aegis of Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission

under India Skills Competition-2026 was successfully completed in three phases.

A total of 1244 youth from 18 divisions of the state participated in the

competition and gave an impressive display of their technical skills,

innovation and efficiency.

The

first phase of the state-level skills competition was held from January 12th to

13th, 2026, with 464 youth participating in orientation and preparatory

activities. Subsequently, in the first phase's main competitions on January

13th, 2026, 451 participants excelled in six key skills, including Electronics,

Fashion Technology, CNC Turning, Welding, CNC Milling, and Additive

Manufacturing. The second phase was held from January 19th to 20th, 2026, in

which 391 youth participated in advanced and futuristic skills such as auto

body repair, automobile technology, cloud computing, cyber security, web

technologies, ICT network infrastructure, and software application development.

The third phase, held from January 22nd to 23rd, 2026, concluded the

state-level competition.

As

part of the competition, competitions in 20 key skills were held in

state-of-the-art workshops at 11 leading institutions in Lucknow. Participants

demonstrated their practical understanding, technical prowess, and creativity

using state-of-the-art machinery and technologies, in accordance with

WorldSkills' established standards. Enthusiasm, confidence, and a positive

competitive atmosphere were evident among the youth throughout all stages of

the competition.

Kapil

Dev Agarwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education,

Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, said that the Yogi government's goal

is to prepare youth for national and international competition, not just

training. The state-level skills competition provides a powerful opportunity

for youth to showcase their talents and reach the global stage.

Pulkit

Khare, Director of the Skill Development Mission, stated that special judging

committees, including industry representatives and technical experts, were

formed to ensure fair, transparent, and quality evaluation of the competitions.

Two outstanding talents will be selected from each skill, who will represent

Uttar Pradesh in the next level of the India Skills Competition. Prizes and

certificates will be presented to the selected talents on January 24, 2026.

He

said that the success of the state-level skills competition demonstrates that

the state's youth are fully prepared to adopt modern technologies and compete

at global standards. This event is an important milestone in making Uttar

Pradesh a leading state in the field of skills development.
