Prayagraj,

02 Jan (HS): “The Uttar Pradesh Congress constituted a committee of top party

leaders from each district to review the draft electoral roll, which is set to

be released on January 6. According to preliminary statistics, the ongoing

Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral registers might result in the

removal of roughly 2.89 crore names, or 18.70 percent of the voters, from the

pre-SIR voter list. Committees will physically review deleted names to

guarantee that no legitimate voter's name is removed and no fraudulent names

are added to the final list. A committee of top leaders has been constituted in

each district to monitor the names eliminated in the SIR process, as instructed

by Congress in charge of Uttar Pradesh, Avinash Pande, and with the nod of state

Congress president Ajay Rai,” informed senior Congress leader and member party’s

political affairs committee, Shekhar Bahuguna while retorting to queries of

reporters over party’s stand on SIR process.

“The

committees will physically check the deleted names, ensuring that no real voter

is removed and no fake identities are added. The freedom to vote is the most

potent tool provided by the Constitution to the ordinary man. Recently, our

leader Rahul Gandhi presented statistics demonstrating that vote fraud occurred

in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Haryana as a result of the BJP's

unholy partnership with the Election Commission. Given this circumstance, every

Congress worker in Uttar Pradesh must assist defend the votes of the poor, SCs,

backward classes, and minorities, because the BJP understands that these groups

are generally not their voters and are suffering from the anti-poor policies,”

he added prior to signing off.
