Nagpur, 25 July (HS): The Maha Metro Nagpur has announced a special campaign offering the Maha Card free of charge with a top-up of Rs 200. The campaign has been announced to popularise public transport.
The commuters can avail the benefit by topping up the card by Rs 200, as the Rs 100 card issuance fee has been waived off completely. The offer is valid till September 15, 2025.
The Maha
Card, launched in collaboration with the State Bank of India (SBI), provides a
10% discount on metro fares for regular commuters and a 30% rebate for
students. The card is available to all, including students up to graduation
level. So far, 1,13,900 Maha Cards have been issued, reflecting its growing
popularity among Nagpurians.
The contactless
smart card allows commuters to skip ticket queues by simply tapping the card at
the AFC gates for entry and exit. Apart from offering convenience, the Maha
Card also promotes environmental sustainability by eliminating the need for
paper tickets.
The card has become a preferred mode of travel due to its ease of use,
affordability, and student-friendly features. With the current offer, commuters
are encouraged to switch to the smart card system and enjoy safe, smooth, and
cost-effective travel. Commuters can collect their Maha Card from their nearest metro station. More information can also be obtained from the metro station.
