Guwahati, 25 July 25 (HS): A 148% jump in toll revenue at Assam's Galia Toll Plaza after a jurisdictional shift in July 2023 has raised suspicions of irregularities. From ₹11.72 crore in 200 days under PIU-Guwahati, collections soared to ₹24.01 crore in the next 165 days under PIU-Bongaigaon. RTI data shows no traffic volume or audit reports to justify the rise. Rakesh Hazarika of the Centre for Efficient Governance has filed a complaint with the CVC, seeking a probe into possible revenue manipulation and accountability from NHAI officials.
