Mumbai, 25 July (HS): About 2,000 families from 49
villages in Gadchiroli district have enrolled till June 30, 2025, under the ‘Upajivika
Vikas Karyakram’ (Livelihood Development Programme). The ambitious programme
conceptualised by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and launched on January 1
this year will be actively supported by the Axis Bank Foundation. About 5,000
families are expected to benefit under the programme, for which Rs 20.34 crore
have been earmarked for three years.
Raising the standard of living by promoting and supporting
sustainable farming and agro-based occupations is the basic aim of the
programme. The target is expected to be achieved by the year 2027-2028.
