Nagpur, 01 July
(HS): In an initiative to promote reading culture, a Rail Library was
inaugurated at the Nagpur Railway Station, with a slogan ‘Panamadhe Ek Pravas’
(A Journey in Pages). The library is free for the travellers.
The library runs
on the principle of ‘Ek Pustak Ghya, Ek Pustak Dya’ (Take one book, Donate one
book).
The travellers can take a book and also donate any book to the library.
About 5,500 books in Marathi and 4,00 in English, and about 250 magazines are
available in the library, started by the Railway Headquarters at CSMT, Mumbai.
The Headquarters has a big library with thousands of books and magazines. The
library has about 1,600 members. The library services have been extended to
other stations, Nagpur being one of them.
