Teiboklang Wahlang was found guilty under Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Special Judge MK Lyngdoh also imposed a fine of ₹50,000, failing which Wahlang will serve an additional six months in prison.

In addition to the main sentence, Wahlang received a two-year term and a ₹10,000 fine for criminal intimidation under Section 506 of the IPC. An extra three-month sentence will apply if the fine is unpaid.

The case was investigated by WP/SI L. Kharjana of the District Executive Force, currently posted at the Women Police Station, East Khasi Hills.
