Muzaffarnagar,
03 May (HS): The Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) has asked for an emergency Kisan
Panchayat in Muzaffarnagar on Saturday, following a segment of protesters at a
demonstration against the Pahalgam terror attack who rejected farmer leader
Rakesh Tikait's participation. According to authorities, Muzaffarnagar Police
detained a person for interrogation after filing a case in the issue. Rajpal Balyan, RLD MLA, has also called for
harsh action in response to Friday's event. Naresh Tikait, BKU national
president, said that the panchayat will meet at the GIC grounds in
Muzaffarnagar to discuss the event. He
said that the incident at the 'Akrosh demonstration' was part of a political
party plot to undermine the farmers' movement.
Rakesh
Tikait was allegedly heckled and asked to leave a gathering organized by
right-wing organizations on Friday to denounce the Pahalgam assault. His turban
dropped during the ruckus, as evidenced by supposed footage of the incident. “The
occurrence was not unexpected. It was
pre-planned and motivated by politics,” according to Naresh Tikait, who added
that farmers from all over the region were gathering in Sisauli and
Muzaffarnagar before of the panchayat, which was set to begin in the afternoon.
Rakesh
Tikait also condemned heckling, stating that he believes it is political
sabotage.
This
is a plot by a single political party to silence the farmers' voices. He informed reporters that certain youngsters
were purposely deployed to disrupt the rally. He alleged that individuals
chanting slogans at him looked to be under the influence of alcohol.
Speaking
to reporters on Saturday, SP (City) Satyanarain Prajapat stated, We have
registered a case under various sections of the BNS Act and launched an
investigation to identify the anti-social elements involved in Rakesh Tikait's
heckling, which caused his turban to fall.
Police
have detained Saurabh Verma, a Krishnapuri resident, for interrogation. Authorities
are reviewing CCTV video to identify other suspects. Security has also been
heightened in the city, notably at the GIC grounds, which will host Saturday's
panchayat.
District
Magistrate Umesh Mishra and SSP Abhishek Singh went to the spot to inspect the
security measures. Meanwhile, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), a BJP-led National
Democratic Alliance (NDA) ally, denounced the event and called for harsh action
against those guilty.
Rajpal
Balyan, the RLD parliamentary party's leader and MLA for Budhana in
Muzaffarnagar, met with Tikait late Friday night. He termed Rakesh Tikait's
heckling as a disorderly behavior and urged the district government to take
immediate action.
Those
who are guilty for this tragedy must be punished. Balyan told reporters that such attitude is
unacceptable in a democratic society. Naresh Tikait, Rakesh Tikait's elder
brother, is the Chaudhary of the Balyan Khap (clan), with significant influence
among community members in western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and
Delhi-NCR.
