First batch of Haj pilgrims leaves for Mecca from Assam


Nagon (Assam), 03 May (HS): This year's holy Haj pilgrimage has started from the state of Assam. On Saturday, more than two thousand Haj pilgrims from the state left for Mecca. Five of these Haj pilgrims are from Jazari area of Batdrava in Nagaon district.

The names of these five devotees leaving for Haj from Jazari are - Safi Ullah Khan, Parbina Begum, Marjina Begum, Nizamuddin Ahmed and Rahima Begum. All of them left for Haj pilgrimage by a special plane from Guwahati on Saturday morning.

Thousands of people were seen in the Jazari area at the time of their departure. People gathered at Jazari Bad Mosque and wished the Haj pilgrims and requested them to pray for humanity.

A special plane was arranged by the Haj Committee, in which more than 300 pilgrims left for Mecca together. The entire farewell atmosphere echoed with the slogans of Allahu Akbar.
