Jaipur, February 7 (HS): During the question hour in the Rajasthan Assembly on Friday, the opposition created a ruckus over the allegations of a cabinet minister against his own government for getting his phone tapped. As soon as the question hour began, the opposition members reached the well of the house shouting slogans and started demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister.

Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani kept appealing to the opposition members to go to their seats and say their point, but the opposition MLAs kept raising slogans. Proceedings were adjourned twice due to the uproar.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham has rejected the allegations of the opposition and said that all these allegations are baseless. The government does not get the phone of any minister or MLA tapped. Friday is the last day of debate on the budget speech of the Governor.

The proceedings of the assembly began at 11 am. Congress members reached the House wearing black bands and as soon as the Question Hour began, they reached the well of the House raising slogans against a cabinet minister accusing his own government of getting phones tapped and started demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister.

Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie said that Cabinet Minister Kirodi Lal Meena himself is saying that his phone is being tapped. The government is getting its own minister's phone tapped, in such a situation the Chief Minister should resign. On this, the MLAs of the ruling party also stood up from their seats and started responding to the allegations of the Congress members loudly.

Chief Whip Jogeshwar Garg stood up and said , with what face are the Congress colleagues raising these questions. It is as if you are going on Haj after eating a hundred rats. The work of tapping the phones of our own government's ministers has been done in the Congress government. Our government does not do such things.

After this, more ministers of the ruling party stood up and started rejecting the allegations of the Congress. Amidst sloganeering, the Assembly Speaker continued the proceedings of the Question Hour and questions and answers were held.

Meanwhile, the Assembly Speaker appealed to the opposition several times that it is not right to disrupt the proceedings during the Question Hour. This is a violation of the rights of the public. The opposition should cooperate in the Question Hour, but despite this the uproar of the opposition continued. After this, even during the Zero Hour, the Congress MLAs kept demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister.

The Assembly Speaker continued the proceedings of the Zero Hour, but the uproar did not stop. The Zero Hour continued for about 18 minutes, but the Congress MLAs did not keep quiet and kept making noise.

Amidst this uproar, the Congress members came to the well and started singing the tune of Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram. The Assembly Speaker said on this that the name of Raja Ram should be respected, because he was Maryada Purushottam. He appealed to everyone to follow the decorum of the House and go back to their seats, but the uproar continued.

Finally the Assembly Speaker adjourned the proceedings of the House till one o'clock. Even when the proceedings of the House resumed at one o'clock, the sloganeering of the Congress MLAs in the well did not stop. Leader of Opposition Julie said that this is not a matter of the government.

The government will have to answer. Seeing the sloganeering and uproar, the Speaker finally had to adjourn the proceedings of the Assembly again till two o'clock. Meanwhile, Minister of State for Home, Jawahar Singh Bedham, while talking to journalists, rejected the allegations of the opposition and said that all these allegations are baseless. The government does not get the phone of any minister or MLA tapped.

He said, as the proceedings of the House began today, the opposition tried to disrupt the proceedings of the House on a baseless matter which has no truth. The opposition is alleging that a minister of the government has talked about his phone being tapped. The opposition forgot that he has said that Ashok Gehlot ji got his phone tapped. Ashok Gehlot ji got the phones of his Deputy Chief Minister and 20 to 25 MLAs tapped. But I can say with confidence that our government is not getting any MLA's phone tapped.
