Tamil Nadu, 5 February (H.S.): Seven workers were injured in an explosion at Sathya Prabha Fireworks, a licensed fireworks manufacturing unit in Chinna Vadiyur village, Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu, on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 PM during the lunch break, impacting a working shed where nearly 60 workers were engaged in cracker production. The blast resulted in the collapse of five working sheds and injuries to seven workers, who were promptly transported to Virudhunagar Government Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Fire and rescue services personnel responded to the scene following the incident. The fireworks unit is owned by Mohanraj and holds a license from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation.

The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.
