Chief Election Commissioner Urges Citizens to Vote as First Step to National Service


Chennai 26 February (H.S.): In a press meet held at the circuit house in Madurai on Wednesday, Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar emphasized the importance of voting as the first step towards national service. Kumar stressed that all Indian citizens who have completed 18 years of age should register as electors and exercise their right to vote.

Kumar commended the electoral process in Madurai, stating that they have done a good job. He was accompanied by Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik, District Collector MS Sangeetha, and other officials.

The Chief Election Commissioner also assured that the Election Commission of India will always stand with the voters. Kumar is likely to visit the Meenakshi Amman temple and Ramanatha Swamy temple in Rameswaram later today.

As the 26th Chief Election Commissioner of India, Gyanesh Kumar has been instrumental in promoting electoral participation and strengthening India's democratic framework.
