Parbhani, 30 Dec (HS): The two factions of the Nationalist Congress
Party have come together in Parbhani. The NCP Ajita Pawar group has announced list
of 57 candidates while Sharad Pawar group is fielding its candidates in eight
seats.
Unexpected alliance was experienced in Parbhani, as Ajit Pawar had
defected from NCP defying Sharad Pawar’s leadership. But for the civic body
elections these two factions have joined hands in Parbhani and some other
places. Ajit Pawar’s Group is ruling the state with BJP and Shiv Sena (Eknath
Shinde). However, the alliance at local levels are different, although the
three parties are together in the state-level.
Tuesday was the last day for filing nominations. Ajit Pawar Group
announced its list of 57 candidates in the morning. Both the parties issued AB
forms to the selected candidates. The delay in finalising the candidates almost
by every party was due to possibility of possibility of rebel by the aspirants.
Various combinations were being tried till the last moment.
The formulas worked out by different political parties make difficulty
for any one to predict the outcome of the elections.
