Bajali (Assam), 30 December (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday inaugurated the new campus of Bhattadev University at Bajali, marking a significant step towards strengthening higher education and ensuring the holistic development of students in Bajali and adjoining areas.

The Chief Minister said the newly constructed campus reflects the government’s commitment to academic excellence and inclusive educational growth in peripheral regions. He noted that the facility would play a vital role in nurturing young minds and expanding access to quality higher education.

Dr Sarma described the campus as a living tribute to Bhattadev, regarded as the father of Assamese prose literature, adding that the institution is rooted in his legacy of scholarship, reform and intellectual awakening.

Terming education as an investment in the future of Assam, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the new campus would inspire coming generations and emerge as a centre of learning that contributes meaningfully to the state’s academic and social progress.
