New Delhi, 26 December (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the national programme commemorating ‘Veer Baal Diwas’ today on Friday, at around 12:15 PM at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. During the event, the Prime Minister is scheduled to address the gathering and pay tributes to the unparalleled courage and supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzadas — Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji, the sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

‘Veer Baal Diwas’ stands as a solemn occasion to honour the indomitable spirit, valor, and steadfast faith of the Sahibzadas, whose martyrdom remains an enduring symbol of bravery in India’s history.

The Government of India is organizing special participatory programmes across the nation to mark the day, aimed at educating citizens — especially the younger generation — about the extraordinary sacrifice of these young heroes.

The nationwide events will feature storytelling sessions, poetry recitations, poster-making and essay-writing competitions, among other engaging activities. These will take place in schools, Anganwadi centres, Child Care Institutions, and various educational platforms across the country.

Additionally, digital participation will be facilitated through MyGov and MyBharat portals to ensure wide citizen engagement. It may be recalled that on 9th January 2022, during the celebration of the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Prime Minister Modi announced that 26th December would henceforth be observed as Veer Baal Diwas.

The day serves as a national tribute to the Sahibzadas’ unwavering devotion to the ideals of righteousness, justice, and faith. In recognition of youth excellence, awardees of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) will also be present at the ceremony, acknowledging young achievers who exemplify courage and commitment in various fields.
