New Delhi, 25 December (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the national programme marking ‘Veer Baal Diwas’ on Friday, December 26, 2025, at around 12:15 PM at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. During the event, the Prime Minister will address the gathering, paying homage to the unmatched courage and martyrdom of the Sahibzadas — the sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji — whose legacy continues to inspire generations of Indians.
The Government of India is organizing commemorative and educational programmes across the country to mark Veer Baal Diwas. These initiatives aim to inform and educate citizens, particularly children and youth, about the extraordinary bravery, sacrifice, and devotion of the Sahibzadas — Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji, who sacrificed their lives upholding faith and righteousness.
Nationwide activities will include storytelling sessions, patriotic recitations, poster-making and essay-writing competitions, and other participatory events. These will be conducted in schools, child care institutions, Anganwadi centres, and other educational forums.
Online platforms such as MyGov and MyBharat will also host interactive programmes to encourage broad public engagement. The day, declared by the Government of India in 2022, holds profound historical and cultural significance. It was on the occasion of the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji—on January 9, 2022—that Prime Minister Modi announced that December 26 would henceforth be observed annually as ‘Veer Baal Diwas’, commemorating the ultimate sacrifice of Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji.Their unparalleled valor and faithfulness to principles at such a young age continue to serve as an eternal source of inspiration, representing the spirit of resilience, justice, and unwavering devotion to duty that defines India’s historical character.
The upcoming ceremony will also witness the presence of awardees of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP), who will participate in the national observance, symbolizing India’s celebration of youth courage, leadership, and service.
The Government noted that the observance of Veer Baal Diwas has evolved into a nationwide movement of remembrance and education, bringing together communities, educators, and young citizens in honoring India’s timeless heroes and reinforcing the values of sacrifice, compassion, and fearlessness.
