New Delhi, 25 December (H.S.): Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the two-day ‘Anti-Terrorism Conference’ in New Delhi on Friday, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) announced. The annual national conference, organized by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) under the MHA, will bring together security, intelligence, and law enforcement officials from across the country to discuss the evolving challenges of terrorism and national security.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the conference is being held in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Zero Tolerance” vision against terrorism, and has now emerged as a significant platform for strategic deliberations on next-generation counterterrorism approaches.

Participants will include representatives from operational forces, technical and forensic experts, legal authorities, and various agencies actively engaged in counterterrorism operations.

A Whole-of-Government Approach

The conference’s primary objective is to ensure a coordinated national response to terrorism, adhering to the principle of a “Whole-of-Government” approach. It aims to strengthen institutional coordination among stakeholders, promote information sharing, and formulate pragmatic policy recommendations for future national security planning.

Over the two days, the event will feature discussions on a wide range of subjects including:

Operational experiences and best practices from law enforcement agencies.

Lessons learned from major terrorism investigations.

Collection of evidence from foreign jurisdictions.

Digital forensics and data analysis.

Effective prosecution management.

Measures to counter radicalization.

Strategies to tackle emerging hybrid threats to national security.

Focus on Disrupting Terror Financing Networks

Dedicated sessions will also focus on techniques to disrupt terror financing, detailed case studies, and institutional capacity building required to meet evolving national security challenges. Experts will discuss tools and technologies relevant to tracking financial transactions, identifying online fundraising patterns, and dismantling cross-border funding structures that support extremist networks.

Wide Representation Across AgenciesThe conference will see participation from senior police officials of States and Union Territories, as well as officers from central agencies involved in counterterrorism and homeland security. Experts from law, forensics, and advanced technology domains will also contribute to thematic sessions and panel discussions.

Officials said the outcome of the conference is expected to provide actionable insights for future counterterrorism frameworks, improve coordination between agencies, and strengthen institutional preparedness at both the state and national levels.
