
Hyderabad, 25 December (H.S.): Hyderabad residents are likely to experience another seven days of intense winter conditions along with foggy and misty weather, according to official forecasts. Similar cold conditions are also expected to prevail across several districts of Telangana.
Minimum temperatures in Hyderabad have already dropped below 13 degrees Celsius in many areas, including Tirumalagiri, Maredpally, Charminar, Shaikpet, Asifnagar and Nampally.
In other districts of the state, the cold has been more severe, with minimum temperatures falling below 10 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature recorded in Telangana was 6.9 degrees Celsius in Kumuram Bheem district.
Meanwhile, a Telangana-based weather expert has predicted that the current spell of intense winter will continue till December 31. According to his forecast, the prolonged cold wave conditions, which have persisted for nearly 25 days, are expected to end by the end of the month. Thereafter, normal winter conditions with seasonal day and night temperatures are likely to prevail across the state.
The weather department has not issued any winter cold alert for Hyderabad. However, it has forecast foggy or misty conditions in the city till December 28, particularly during night and early morning hours. Hazy conditions are expected to prevail during these periods.
In view of the prevailing weather conditions, residents are advised to plan their travel carefully, especially during late-night and early-morning hours when reduced visibility due to fog may affect movement.
