New Delhi, 21 December (H.S.): Kota Neelima, author and wife of Congress spokesperson and head of the party’s media wing Pawan Khera, on Sunday dismissed allegations linking her to foreign funding and an alleged media influence network, calling them “false, malicious, and defamatory.” She warned that legal action would be initiated against those responsible for spreading the accusations.
Taking to social media platform X, Neelima reacted strongly to a post from an account that levelled the charges, describing the narrative as “defamatory nonsense masquerading as investigation.” She said she was “deeply shocked” by the deliberate fabrication of falsehoods intended to tarnish her reputation.
In her post, Neelima stated that every so-called factual claim made against her was “entirely false and malicious.” She affirmed that legal proceedings against the authors, publishers, and promoters of these posts were already underway and would be pursued “to their complete legal conclusion.”
The controversy began after a post from an X handle named ‘The Hawk Eye’ surfaced on Saturday, alleging the existence of a network influencing media narratives in India, purportedly linked to the Congress party and foreign funding sources. The post had specifically named Kota Neelima as a central figure in this alleged network.
Strongly rejecting these accusations, Neelima asserted that the claims were part of a “calculated smear campaign” designed to damage her credibility and that truth and law would ultimately prevail.
