Saharanpur/Bulandshahr,

21 Dec (HS): In Gangoh of Saharanpur, STF killed Siraj, a wanted criminal with

a reward of Rs 1 lakh, in an encounter. Siraj was absconding in a famous murder

case of Sultanpur district and the police was searching for him for a long

time. During the encounter, Siraj fired at the STF team, due to which he was

killed in the retaliatory action. Late on Saturday night, STF had received

secret information that Siraj was planning to commit a crime in Gangoh area. On

receiving the information, the STF team cordoned off the area and started

intensive checking. During this, the suspicious bike rider was signaled to

stop, but he started firing. He died due to bullet injuries in the retaliatory

action by STF.

The

slain criminal, Siraj, was a notorious criminal. He had nearly 30 criminal

cases registered against him, including murder, robbery, dacoity, illegal

weapons possession, and the Gangster Act. Since the Sultanpur massacre, he had

been constantly changing locations and eluding the police. The UP police had

announced a reward of Rs. 1 lakh for his arrest.

Meanwhile,

a wanted criminal with a reward of Rs 50,000 was murdered in a police encounter

here on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, according to police. Zubair

alias Peter (35), a Meerut native, was transported to the hospital after being

shot during a violent encounter, and doctors proclaimed him dead. The constable

was also hurt during the exchange of fire.

SSP

Dinesh Kumar Singh stated that Kotwali Dehat police were conducting a check on

Syana Road when Zubair and another guy on a motorbike opened fire on the police

and attempted to flee. Police chased them and alerted neighboring stations.

When

the suspects discovered themselves surrounded by police, they opened fire

again. Singh claims that one perpetrator was shot in revenge. Police said they

are attempting to find and capture the second person who fled. According to

authorities, Zubair had over 40 criminal complaints filed against him in
