Three killed as bike collides with dumper on Badshahi road


Murshidabad, 16 December (H.S.): Three youths died in a road accident near a rice mill adjacent to Kapasidanga under Khargram police station on Haldia-Farakka Badshahi Road on Monday evening. The deceased have been identified as Aslam Sheikh (16), Akash Sheikh (26), and Eid Mohammad (12), residents of Jatarpara village under Khargram police station.

As per information, the accident occurred when the trio were returning home on a motorbike after shopping in Khargram and collided with a dumper truck coming from the opposite direction. On information, the police arrived at the scene. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident. The driver of the dumper truck fled the scene immediately after the incident. The police are searching for the driver.

Local residents initially assisted in rescuing the injured. The police then took the three to Khargram Block Hospital. However, due to their critical condition, they were transferred to Kandi Sub-Divisional Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the three youths had gone to Khargram town for shopping that day. The tragic accident occurred on their way back. The incident caused a traffic jam on the Badshahi Road, with vehicles lined up one after another.
