Prayagraj,
16 Dec (HS): In order to spread the pledge of Clean India to every person and
to make cleanliness not just a campaign but a way of life, the cleanliness
campaign running from December 16-31 was launched today in a dignified
atmosphere at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Prayagraj. On this occasion, the program
was started with the cleanliness pledge, in which the scientists, employees of
Krishi Vigyan Kendra and the students of the college participated
enthusiastically. This moment was not just a formality, but a collective pledge
– to make our campus, our society and our nation clean, healthy and aware.
The
chief guest for the occasion was Dr. Praveen Charan, Director (Extension),
SHUATS. In his inspiring address, he emphasized that cleanliness is not a
matter of a single day or a fortnight, but rather a continuous process. Only
when cleanliness becomes a part of our behavior can its true impact be seen in
society. Describing the role of youth and students as crucial, he said that if
the younger generation embraces cleanliness, the goal of a clean country will
be automatically realized.
The
event was graced by the presence of Dr. Mukesh P. Masih, Head of the Krishi
Vigyan Kendra, Prayagraj. He stated that the Krishi Vigyan Kendra is not
limited to agricultural techniques, but also continuously works on issues such
as social awareness, health, and sanitation. Sanitation and health are directly
related, and the foundation of rural development can only be strengthened by
ensuring a clean environment.
As
coordinators of the cleanliness campaign, Dr. G.P.M. Singh and Dr. Nisha
Natarajan provided detailed information about the campaign's outline,
objectives, and upcoming activities. They explained that this campaign, which
runs from December 16th to 31st, will not only organize awareness programs
related to cleanliness, but will also place special emphasis on behavior
change. The campaign's objective is to make people understand that cleanliness
is not limited to mere cleanliness, but is a matter of thought, habit, and
responsibility.
On
this occasion, other scientists and staff members of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra,
including Dr. R.P. Singh, Dr. Subodh Yadav, Dr. D.S. Chauhan, and all the
employees, took an active part. They unanimously took the Cleanliness Pledge,
vowing to remain clean themselves, keep their workplace and surrounding environment
clean, and spread the message of cleanliness in society.
The
college students present at the event also enthusiastically took the oath. The
youth's participation made it clear that the dream of a clean India will be
realized not only through government efforts, but also through collective
public participation. Addressing the students, speakers said that if today's
youth make cleanliness a habit, future generations will automatically build a
clean and healthy India.
The
program concluded with the message that cleanliness is not just the
government's responsibility, but the duty of every citizen. This cleanliness
campaign, initiated by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Prayagraj, will not only be
limited to the institute but will also send a positive message to society—that
cleanliness leads to health, and health leads to prosperity.
Thus,
this cleanliness campaign, running from 16th December to 31st December, will
prove to be an important step towards building a clean, healthy and aware
society as a strong mass movement.
