16 Dec (HS): To ensure the effective implementation of the Yogi government's
public welfare policies, the state's Minister of State (Independent Charge) for
Backward Classes Welfare and Disabled Empowerment, Narendra Kashyap, held a
departmental review meeting in Room No. 80 of the Secretariat on Tuesday. The
minister directed that the benefits of all schemes run under Chief Minister
Yogi Adityanath's leadership should reach eligible beneficiaries in a timely,
transparent, and seamless manner, and that negligence at any level will not be
tolerated.
During
the review of the Backward Classes Welfare Department, the Minister reviewed in
detail the Marriage Grant Scheme, Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Scheme,
Computer Training Scheme, budget expenditure, status of vacant posts, technical
problems and publicity of the schemes. He directed the officials to further
expedite the process of benefiting eligible beneficiaries under the Marriage
Grant Scheme in the financial year 2025-26. It was informed in the meeting that
till December 15, 2025, Rs 139.288 crore has been transferred to the accounts
of 69,644 beneficiaries through PFMS. Divisional and district officials have
been directed to benefit the remaining eligible applicants soon.
During
the review of scholarship and fee reimbursement schemes, it was informed that
in the financial year 2025-26, Rs 147.75 crore has been transferred to the
accounts of 6,90,349 students under Pre-Matric Scholarship (Class 9-10) and Rs
175.54 crore has been transferred to the accounts of 5,85,954 students under
Post-Matric Scholarship/Fee Reimbursement (Class 11-12). Thus, till now,
assistance of Rs 323.29 crore has been provided to a total of 12,76,303
students. The Minister directed that in case of transaction failure, automatic
repayment system should be effectively implemented and students should be
informed about each stage through SMS and email.
During
the review of computer training schemes, it was informed that 299 eligible
institutions have been selected against the online applications of 435
institutions, in which 21,336 O-Level and 7,355 CCC trainees are being trained
and till now Rs. 19.18 crore has been spent on this process. The Minister
directed that regular inspections of trainees and training institutions should
be done to ensure the quality of training.
While
reviewing the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, the
Minister said that the Yogi government is fully committed to the empowerment,
respect and self-reliance of the persons with disabilities. It was informed in
the meeting that under the Disabled Maintenance Grant Scheme, currently more
than 11 lakh 57 thousand persons with disabilities are being given assistance
of Rs. 1000 per month. Leprosy Pension Scheme, Shop Construction/Operation
Scheme, Free Bus Travel Facility, Marriage Incentive Award Scheme, UDID Card,
distribution of artificial limbs and assistive devices, cochlear implant surgery,
operation of special schools and works being done under the state fund were
also reviewed in detail.
Minister
Kashyap directed the officials to ensure effective implementation of all
schemes related to social, economic, educational and medical rehabilitation of
the disabled as per the wishes of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and to further
strengthen systems like digital innovation, e-office, online payment and budget
monitoring, so that every disabled person of the state can live a respectable
and self-reliant life.
