raised demands before the Union Ministry of Women & Child Development for
effective policies on women’s safety, health and self-reliance, along with
strict control over cyber crimes
Memorandum
to the Union Agriculture Minister includes constitution of the ‘Indian
Agriculture Council’, strengthening of State Agricultural Universities and
Krishi Vigyan Kendras, and time-bound recruitment to vacant posts

Delhi, 16 Dec (HS): Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) delegation led by
its National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki, today met three
Union Ministers in New Delhi and submitted memoranda on key national issues.
The ABVP delegation held discussions with Union Minister for Women & Child
Development Annapurna Devi, Union Minister for Agriculture Shivraj Singh
Chouhan, and Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports Dr. Mansukh
Mandaviya, and presented substantive and solution-oriented recommendations
concerning women’s safety and empowerment, reforms in agricultural education,
and strengthening of the sports ecosystem.
In
its memorandum to the Ministry of Women & Child Development, ABVP demanded
strict measures to curb cyber crimes against women and regulate AI-generated
objectionable content. The organisation also emphasized encouraging adolescent
girls and young women to pursue Science, Technology, Engineering and
Mathematics (STEM) and emerging technologies, conducting nationwide awareness
campaigns on cervical and breast cancer, and increasing the number of
fast-track courts for the speedy disposal of crimes against women. ABVP further
stressed the need to activate Internal Complaints Committees at workplaces and
expand schemes aimed at ensuring women’s economic self-reliance.
Regarding
agricultural reforms, ABVP’s memorandum called for the constitution of a
national-level Indian Agriculture Council, establishment of Central
Agricultural Universities in every state, strict regulation of agricultural
education in accordance with ICAR norms, strengthening of State Agricultural
Universities and Krishi Vigyan Kendras, time-bound recruitment to vacant
teaching and scientific posts, enhancement of budgets for agricultural research
and student fellowships, expansion of agricultural curricula in Indian
languages, integration of agriculture education at the school level under NEP
2020, and promotion of agriculture-based entrepreneurship, innovation, and
technology exhibitions.
In
the memorandum submitted to the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, ABVP
demanded the inclusion of Physical Education as an optional subject in the UPSC
Civil Services Main Examination, implementation of sports quota and mandatory
fitness programmes in all educational institutions, and formulation of a
‘National Sports Readiness Framework’ in preparation for the 2030 Commonwealth
Games. The delegation also highlighted the need to incentivise NCC and NSS
cadets and promote traditional Indian sports as part of India’s cultural and
sporting heritage.

National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki stated,“Based on the
resolutions passed and suggestions received during the Dehradun National
Conference, ABVP today submitted memoranda to three Union Ministers to seek
concrete and practical solutions to critical national issues. Ensuring a safe
and dignified digital environment for women, bringing uniformity and quality in
agricultural education through a national council, and integrating sports as an
integral component of education are essential to the vision of a developed and
self-reliant India. ABVP remains committed to constructive dialogue,
policy-oriented advocacy, and nation-building through the empowerment of
students and youth. The Hon’ble Ministers have shown a positive approach, and
we are confident that effective policy decisions will be taken at the earliest.
