Nadia, 16 December (H.S.): A delivery boy died in a road accident on Kalyani-Barrackpore Expressway on Monday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Soumen Roy. The police have recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.

As per information, 49-year-old Soumen Roy worked for a food delivery company. He had been associated with this work for a long time. His home is in the Kanchrapara Tikitiki Bazar area of North 24 Parganas.

On Monday afternoon, Soumen was riding his motorcycle at high speed on the Kalyani-Barrackpore Expressway. He was in a hurry to deliver food to a customer. He lost control of his bike and collided with another motorcycle. At the same time, a four-wheeler was speeding from behind on the expressway. The four-wheeler ran over him. Seeing the accident, local people immediately rushed to the spot. Soumen was immediately taken to Kalyani Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Hospital. However, the doctors on duty declared him dead. On information, the police from Kalyani police station arrived at the scene. The body has been sent for post-mortem. The incident has plunged the deceased's family members into grief.
