Guwahati, 09 January (HS): A team of Special Task Force Assam (STF) conducted a drive in Fourteen Mile area near Jorabat in Guwahati and arrested two peddlers involved in drug smuggling.
In a statement issued by Assam Police Headquarters on Thursday, it has been told that on the basis of secret information, during the drive in Fourteen Mile area of Bashishtha police station area the two vicious drug peddlers have arrested with 21 plastic containers filled with drugs, 21 syringes, 10 empty plastic containers, 14 stolen mobile phones and cash worth ₹22,775.
The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Bolostar Sarious and Shahid Marbian. Both the arrested accused were running the drug business for a long time by staying in a rented house in Deka Building in Fourteen Mile area.
Police sources have said that both the accused have already gone to jail in cases of theft, robbery and drug smuggling. The STF has handed over the arrested accused to Bashishtha police for further interrogation. The police have registered an FIR in this regard and are intensively interrogating both the arrested peddlers.
