Guwahati, 09 January (HS): Famous actress Gyanada Kakati passed away on Wednesday night at Bethany Hospital in Shillong at the age of 90.

Gyanada Kakati entered Assamese cinema through the film 'Parghat'. She made a special mark with her acting in popular films like 'Piyali Phukan', 'Sarapat', 'Lakhimi', and 'Ranga Police'.

Born in Shillong in 1932, Gyanada Kakati was honored with 'Bishnurabaha Samman' by the Assam government in 2002. Her death has caused a deep loss to the Assamese art and film world.
