Bhopal, January 24 (HS):Under the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote tourism, a cabinet meeting was held on Friday in the tourist city Maheshwar under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav at the destination dedicated to the 300th birth anniversary year of Devi Ahilyabai, in which a big decision has been taken in the interest of the state. In this, the state government has decided to ban liquor in 17 religious cities. Liquor shops will be completely closed in these 17 cities and these shops will not be shifted to another place. This decision will be implemented from April 1.
This information was given by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav in a press conference after the cabinet meeting held in Maheshwar. He told that in the cabinet meeting, it has been decided to close liquor shops in 17 cities including Ujjain, Mandsaur, Amarkantak, Omkareshwar, Datia, Salkanpur. This decision will be implemented in these cities after the end of this financial year. He also said that the liquor shops closed here will not be shifted to another place. They will be closed permanently.
He said that liquor will be banned in Ujjain, Datia, Datia, Panna, Mandla, Multai, Mandsaur, Maihar, Omkareshwar, Maheshwar, Mandleshwar, Orchha, Chitrakoot, Amarkantak, Salkanpur, Barmankala, Linga, Kundalpur, Armanpur and Bandalpur in Madhya Pradesh.
These also include one Municipal Corporation, 6 Municipalities, 6 Municipal Councils and 6 Gram Panchayats. At the Gram Panchayat level, the existing policy of prohibition of liquor will continue within a radius of five kilometers in Salkanpur Mata Mandir, Barmankala, Linga, Barman Khurd, Kundalpur and Bandalpur.
He said that in special circumstances, the ministers will be able to transfer officers and employees in their departments. Along with this, the Cabinet has also approved the Nari Shaktikaran Mission with targets. Apart from this, the cabinet has approved Rs 25 crore for the law faculty of Dr. Ambedkar University Mhow. He said that the BJP government has developed Mhow as a pilgrimage site. Ambedkar has a big role in law. Therefore, it has been decided to develop it as a center of excellence along with the law faculty.
The Chief Minister will interact with the women weavers who prepare Maheshwari sarees here. After this, there will be a public meeting in Mandleshwar. There are 17 types of Malvi and Nimari dishes for those who attend the cabinet. The Chief Minister will also lay the foundation stone of Maheshwar-Janapaav lift irrigation scheme worth Rs 982 crore 59 lakh in Mandleshwar. Water will reach three districts through this scheme.
The sanctity of religious cities will remain: Minister Krishna Gaur-
After the decision taken in the cabinet, Minister of State Krishna Gaur said that the sanctity of the religious city should remain. Therefore, it has been decided that there should be complete prohibition of liquor here. This decision is welcome. In the meeting, the ministers urged the CM that complete prohibition of liquor should be implemented in the coming time.
