Mumbai, 24 January (HS): 8 people have died due to sudden explosion in the ordnance factory located in Jawahar Nagar area of ​​Bhandara district on Friday morning. About 10 people have been injured in this incident, who have been admitted to Bhandara District Hospital. As soon as the information of this incident was received, the fire brigade and police reached the spot and are doing relief and rescue work.

According to the police, more than twenty people were working in the RK section of the ordnance factory located in Jawahar Nagar today.

A strong explosion took place in this section at around 11 am, after which the factory roof collapsed. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the fire brigade and police team reached the spot and started the work of removing the debris of the roof with the help of JCB. According to Bhandara District Collector Sanjay Kolte, a total of twelve people were trapped at the spot, out of which two have been rescued so far. Rescue work is going on at the spot.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that it was very sad to know about the explosion in the ordnance factory in Bhandara, Maharashtra. He expressed condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. He said that rescue teams are deployed at the spot. All efforts are being made to provide assistance to the affected people.

On the explosion in the ordnance factory in Bhandara, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, There has been a major explosion in the ordnance factory in Bhandara.

According to preliminary information, 8 people have died and 7 people are injured in this incident. He paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the explosion in the ordnance factory in Bhandara by observing a minute's silence.

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said, 13 to 14 workers are reported to be trapped due to the collapse of the roof in the explosion in the ordnance factory in Bhandara district. The District Collector and Superintendent of Police are on the spot and all kinds of help is being provided. SDRF and Nagpur Municipal Corporation teams have also been called for rescue work and they will reach soon. The district administration is involved in rescue operations in coordination with the defense forces. Teams have also been kept ready for medical assistance.
