Mumbai, January 24 (HS): Police custody of film actor Saif Ali Khan's attacker Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad was extended till January 29 by Bandra Magistrate Court on Friday. The police custody of the attacker was ending today, that is why the team of Bandra Police Station presented him in the court today.

According to the police, the accused who entered the Bandra residence of film actor Saif Ali Khan with the intention of theft on the night of January 16, stabbed Saif. In this case, the police arrested Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad from Thane on January 19. The court sent him to police custody till January 24. The police custody of the accused was ending today, so he was presented in Bandra Court. The police told the court that the accused is not cooperating in the investigation. He is a Bangladeshi citizen, so it has to be investigated how many people helped him to come to India. Also, it has to be investigated who are his other accomplices in this case, therefore police custody of the accused is necessary.

The accused's lawyer told the court that the person whom the police is calling the accused is not the real accused. There is nothing left for the police to investigate. Therefore, the accused should be sent to judicial custody, but the court extended the police custody of the attacking accused till January 29.
