Tamil Nadu, 22 January (H.S.): The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) will launch a year-long plastic waste collection drive across the state starting January 26th.

The initiative, with a budget of ₹10 crore, aims to reduce plastic usage and raise environmental awareness.

Municipal workers, volunteers, and NGOs will collect plastic waste, which will then be recycled. A baseline study on plastic usage will be conducted. The drive will be monitored through the Meendum Manjappai app, and local bodies will explore incentives for public participation.
