Guwahati, 17 January (HS): Heartfelt tributes have paid to freedom fighter and Shilpi Rupkonwar Jyotiprasad Agarwala on his death anniversary. In the tribute programme organised at Rajiv Bhawan, Assam Pradesh Congress Organisational General Secretary Bipul Gogoi shed light on Jyotiprasad's life and recalled his golden works.

The programme was started by Vice President Gunakant Gogoi by lighting the lamp. On the occasion of Shilpi Diwas, State Congress Media Department President Vedbrata Bora said that the songs composed by Jyotiprasad Agarwala to inspire the revolutionaries during the freedom movement are still relevant. He called for making these songs popular among the public.

Vedbrata Bora said that Jyotiprasad had jumped into the freedom struggle supporting Gandhiji's call for the Congress tricolour. Many senior Congress leaders including Assam Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Ramanna Barua, Rajesh Joshi, Arun Tiwari were present in the programme.
