Guwahati, 17 January (HS): Assam's Minister of Industry, Trade and Public Enterprises Department Bimal Bora, who arrived in London from Dubai as part of the 'Advantage Assam 2.0' campaign, met British MP and Minister of Indo-Pacific Ocean Affairs Catherine West on Thursday.

In this meeting, Advantage Assam 2.0 to be organized under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma was discussed. Also, steps taken to develop Assam as an economic powerhouse were also discussed.

During the meeting, there was discussion on strengthening cultural ties between India and England and making Assam a major center of trade and investment. Minister Bora encouraged British investors to invest in potential sectors in Assam.

Minister Bora attended the investor conference organized at Hotel St. James, Buckingham Gate, London. In this conference, he urged British investors to invest in potential sectors like petroleum and tourism in Assam. Apart from this, he personally talked to some investors about investing in Assam.

Before the conference, Minister Bora visited the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Parliament Square Garden and Ambedkar House at 10 King Henry Path.

Minister Bora was accompanied by Special Chief Secretary Syed Abdullah Abbasi, Industries Commissioner Oinam Charan Kumar Singh, Tourism Secretary Padma Pani Bora and Special Officer Kamal Jyoti Bhuiyan in this campaign of Advantage Assam 2.0.
