DGP Khurania orders probe into road rage incident, case to be registered against hooligans

Bhubaneswar, 19 September (H.S.): Odisha's Director General of Police YB Khurania has ordered the police to take action against the hooligans who allegedly assaulted Major Gurvansh Singh and his fiancée Ankita Pradhan in Bhubaneswar on September 14.

The DGP categorically said, “All wrongdoers will be identified and strict action will be taken against them.”

The DGP’s remarks came a day after he suspended five police officers, including the IIC, of Bharatpur police station, for gross misconduct following allegations of custodial assault on and molestation threat to the Army officer’s fiancée.

It may be noted that the couple had gone to police station to seek action against the hooligans who harassed them but were allegedly brutally attacked by the cops at Bharatpur police station.
