Guwahati, 19 September (HS): The 'Arunodaya 3.0' scheme has been launched in Assam on Thursday by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma at Lok Seva Bhavan.

Inaugurating the scheme, Chief Minister said, Arunodaya Yojana is the most powerful scheme. Arunodaya Yojana is one of the 18 schemes. Tenthousand additional beneficiaries will be added in each constituency. The benefit of Arunodaya Yojana is being provided to 24.60 lakh people. The number of beneficiaries will increase to 37.2 lakh. This amount is received through PM Jan Dhan account. Initially this amount was ₹830. During Covid, the amount has been increased by ₹170. At present, this amount has been increased by another ₹250. Currently, the beneficiary will get ₹1,250.

It is noteworthy that this time the government has accepted about 10 lakh applications for the 'Arunodaya 3.0' scheme. From this time 12.6 lakh new families will get the money of this scheme. The Chief Minister said that the beneficiaries of the previous Arunodaya will have to apply again. It is mandatory for the beneficiaries to have a ration card. Beneficiaries will not be able to avail the benefits of this scheme if they have a government job or vehicle.

This time 32.7 lakh new beneficiaries will get the money of the 'Arunodaya 3.0' scheme. If you do not have a ration card, you will not get the benefit of Arunodaya. Eligible women can apply afresh. Widows above 45 years of age can apply. Unmarried, divorced women will also get the money of the scheme. Single women will benefit from this scheme. Third gender and specially abled women can also apply. Women in government registered old age homes will also get this facility. Elderly / sick women can also apply afresh in this scheme. The total annual income of the applicant should be less than is ₹2 lakh.
