New Delhi, 01 August (HS): President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Swapnil Kusale for India's third medal in the Paris Olympics.

Kusale won the bronze medal in the men's 50m rifle 3P event on Thursday at the ongoing Olympics-2024 in Paris, the capital of France. Kusale has become the first Indian shooter to win a medal in the men's 50m rifle 3P event. Kusale won the bronze medal for India by finishing third with a total score of 451.4 in the 50m rifle 3 position men's final. He won India's third medal in shooting overall.

The President wrote on the social media platform X, Hearty congratulations to Swapnil Kusale on winning the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics. He has become the first Indian to win a medal in the men's 50m rifle 3 position category. This is the first time that India has won three medals in shooting events at a single Olympic Games. The entire shooting contingent has made India proud. I extend my best wishes to all our players for the upcoming competitions. I wish Swapnil Kusale wins many more medals in the future.”
