Through social media, Chief Minister Biren Singh said, I express my heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and the dedicated team of NHIDCL for their commitment and support in improving connectivity in the state.

This important route was neglected for 70 years. Putting an end to this period, construction of 2-lane road with paved roads for Tamenglong-Tousem-Lisang-Mahur Road (NH-137), from 10 km near Dialong village to 31 km near Barak river has been successfully completed. Important bridges on Imphal-Jiribam Highway, Makru, Irang and Barak river have also been completed in the last few years.
