Lucknow, 26 April (HS): Officials reported a 44.13 percent voter participation in Uttar Pradesh's eight parliamentary constituencies as of 3 p.m. on Friday in the second round of the Lok Sabha elections. Polling began at 7 a.m. and will continue until 6 p.m.

The second phase of voting in Uttar Pradesh is currently ongoing in the seats of Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, and Mathura.

According to the Election Commission (EC), 51.44 percent of votes were cast in Amroha, 47.52 percent in Meerut, 42.92 percent in Baghpat, 41.13 percent in Ghaziabad, 44.08 percent in Gautam Buddh Nagar, 44.54 percent in Bulandshahr, 44.08 percent in Aligarh, and 39.45 percent in Mathura at 3 p.m. There are more than 1.67 crore voters, 7,797 voting stations and 17,704 polling booths in UP’s 8 parliamentary seats, where voting is underway.
