Fake currency racketeer arrested in Nagpur


Nagpur, 08 May (HS): Jariptaka Police in Nagpur arrested Parvez Ahmad Patel alias Pappu, allegedly kingpin in one of the biggest fake currency rackets in India.

A case under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) was registered against a gang of land grabbers. The cops during a search in this connection found fake currency notes in possession of one Imran Ali. The fake currency notes were of ₹500 denomination. Besides 12 printed fake currency notes, 400 pieces of paper cut in size of ₹500 notes were also recovered from his residence.

During interrogation, Imran Ali revealed the name of Parvez with whom he was dealing.

Parvez was arrested by the police and separate offences against Imran and Parvez were registered. Further investigation is in progress.
