New Delhi/London, 4 December (H.S.): Indian-origin UK MP Priti Patel has strongly condemned the violence against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh, calling it senseless and horrendous.

As a Conservative MP and Shadow Foreign Secretary, she urged the Bangladeshi government to prioritize the security and religious freedom of Hindus. Patel expressed her concerns over the instability in Bangladesh and the attacks on religious minorities, stating that these acts of violence are deeply concerning.

She also called on the UK government to support efforts to protect life, prevent violence, and safeguard religious freedoms in Bangladesh.

During a parliamentary session on Monday, Patel and other British MPs raised concerns about the violence against Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh, demanding a statement from Foreign Secretary David Lammy.

Patel highlighted the arrest of an ISKCON leader at a place of worship, describing it as a critical issue.

She further noted that the current instability in Bangladesh since the departure of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in August has only heightened the level of violence and expressed her thoughts for those affected by these events.
